Yes, I thought orange for females as well. Unless it was an age progression, they start blue, then grow into large blue, then orange at the very end.


I wonder what the different colours denote? boys? girls? I suspect the big orange ones are the females.


the magpie is great - light just right on his face, and very sharp focus. and good contrast even in the black plumage areas.
the seagull was colourful 'pop' of red legs and white feathers too.
