Back in the 80s I had Casio digitals. It was the latest thing, and lots and lots of memories.
Casio came up with the world time watch, which had all the world's time zones. You could move from your home time to any other zone and check out or change the time.
This is the 1980s A300U, now a collector's item.
This watch has been so popular, they are STILL making digital world time watches that look very similar.
I suspect blokes of my 'vintage' are buying them, for sentimental reasons. Plus retro is cool.
I picked up one recently. The Casio AE1200WH. It is amazingly thin.
There is one area where this 1980s technology absolutely pisses on the smart watches of today.
Battery life.
No need to charge this Casio every night. It has a 10 year battery. Yes, TEN YEARS.
Fabulous. Awesome.
If the Amish did not exist, you would found them on 1980s technology and 1950s theology. No Tamagotchi's need apply.
