I decided to have a little play with Big Bertha (Tamron 150-600mm) from the back veranda.
First thing that happened, I discovered the tripod was broken. A stupid screw had come out that holds the top assembly, and no matter what I did I couldn't fix it.
Tripod to bin. Next GAS attack - new tripod.
Hence all Big Bertha shots were handheld, and it is one heavy bastard.

I also discovered that you can do a bit of macro with Big Bertha. I like the colours on this one:
nice work hand held ! You could have been a sniper.
and as per my email, please retrieve the tripod so Thygo (hunter gatherer) can see what can be salvaged and/or repaired)
