I don't know what this weed is. It has come up amongst the other weeds in a former garden bed. [edit, looks like it might be salsify, which you can apparently eat the roots of - http://honest-food.net/2009/05/17/wild-salsify-right-under-my-nose/ ]
A couple of weeks ago I noticed it had this enormous dandelion type fluffy seed head. I meant to take a picture but by the time I came back next day the wind had blown it all away.
I think I have missed two more in the intervening weeks.
Then today as I went to hang clothes, voila!, not one but three opened heads. So the Nikon came out of the cupboard.

once the photo shoot was over however, the seed heads were harvest in a bag, and the plant pulled up, and all in the bin.
More excellent shots. And fantastic of Thygs to begin 2017 with such regular blogging.

Great photos. Bloggers who leave their Nikon in the cupboard should call their friends M'lord!
