This morning I ran into John Howard outside my office. I shook his hand and wished him a Merry Christmas, and said something else nice to him of a confidential nature. He was very gracious.
While I do not agree with all of Howard's policies, especially the blind allegiance to the United States, he was certainly a better Prime Minister than the current one, and way better than the previous two Labor ones.
And I am pleased that Australia is still a country where a former Prime Minister can walk the streets safely.
I agree we have a great country where former Prime Ministers can walk the streets safely. I look forward to the day Tony Abbott does this.
