Absolutely. Like melting ice caps, it is a once off benefit as the water column heats.

It sounds like Python subscribes to the "the ocean ate my global warming" theory.

The El Nino is long overdue in the Pacific Eastern Pacific. It is keeping the US in drought and bringing extra rainfall to Australia and parts of South America. The same late El Nino is also keeping warmer water deeper, hence the decrease in accelerating ocean temperatures in the satellite readings. So far, no one has predicted the Southern Oscillation (El Nino/La Nina) will stop under climate change, but as I noted earlier, we do not know enough.
